Julie Bonk is a remarkable musician whose artistry radiates from the depths of her soul, infusing every performance with a distinctive vibrancy. Her talent was recognized in 2014 when she was honored as the Jazz Musician of the Year by the Sammons Center for the Arts, a testament to her dedication and passion for music. Julie's journey in music began at the prestigious Interlochen Arts Academy and Interlochen Music Camp where she cultivated her love for jazz, blues, and songwriting, laying the foundation for her illustrious career. Continuing her education, Julie pursued a Bachelor of Music Degree in Jazz Performance at the University of North Texas, further honing her skills and expanding her musical horizons. Her extensive training has equipped her with a deep understanding of various musical styles, allowing her to seamlessly blend genres and create a signature sound that captivates audiences. She has performed for 3 presidents and played duets with President Bush Senior. 

Throughout her career, Julie has had the privilege of performing and recording with a host of legendary artists, including Bob Hope, Vinnie Colaiuta, Marshall Ivory, Shelly Carol, Henry (The Skipper) Franklin and Sunship, Suede, Buggs Henderson, The Supremes, The Drifters, The Platters, Z.Z. Hill, Rusty Burns, Felipe Souza, Guthrie Kennard, Tom Prasada-Rao, Wanda King , Andrew Jr. Boy Jones, Scott Copeland, and Ryan Tharp. She also toured and recorded a Grammy award winning album with El Haragan. 

Collaborating with such notable figures has enriched her musical journey and contributed to her growth as an artist. 

Julie Bonk is also a talented piano teacher based in Texas, specializes in Jazz and Blues improvisation, composition, music theory, performance techniques, and vocal styling. Her impressive roster of students includes Grammy Award Winner Norah Jones & Scott Hoying from the Pentatonix, also Mark G Meadows, pianist for Cynthia Erivo, and pianist and arranger for the musical The Outsiders.

With her captivating performances, Julie is in high demand, and her album 'Different Shades of Blue' showcases her heartfelt songs and soulful originals.
